The IRS has announced the 2017 limits for health savings accounts (HSAs) and high-deductible health plans (HDHPs):
- The maximum annual HSA contribution is $3,400 for self-only coverage and $6,750 for family coverage.
- The minimum annual deductible for an HDHP is $1,300 for self-only coverage and $2,600 for family coverage.
- The maximum out-of-pocket expense limit is $6,550 for self-only coverage and $13,100 for family coverage.
For participants in an HDHP who turn 55 or older on Dec. 31, 2017, the 2017 HSA catch-up contribution limit is $1,000.
